HLTAID004 – Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Settings

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011).
This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.
There is a total of $150.00 fee need to be paid for this course.
• 2 days in the classroom (face to face) OR
Blended learning online (4 – 5 hrs theory) plus one-day practical assessment in the classroom
There are no prerequisites for this course.
A successful outcome for this Certificate will be determined by a range of different methods including,

Current industry standards state this course must be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months.
The learner is required to achieve competency in all the course content in order to complete the course and be awarded this qualification.

To be eligible for this course, learners must successfully complete Australian College of Professional Studies Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and pre-training interview. They must have the physical ability to manage CPR and other First Aid situations.
On successful completion, you will be issued with the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID004 Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Settings.
