Qualification will be delivered for 52 weeks.
Completion of: CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
OR
Completion of: CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
OR
Completion of: CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
Employment outcomes resulting from the completion of this qualification may include the following roles:•
- Aged or Disabled Carer
- Nursing Support Worker
- Respite Care Worker
- Residential Disability Support Worker
To be awarded the qualification of CHC43121 – Certificate IV in Disability Support, learners must successfully complete a total of Ten (10) units of competency, consisting of:
- Seven (7) Core Units, and;
- Three (3) Elective Units,
Assessment methods vary as per the unit of competency requirement, generally, assessment methods may include all or some of the following:
• Written Questionnaires
• Scenarios / Case studies
• Workplace Assessment Tasks
• Projects
• Workplace observations
To be awarded the qualification of CHC43121 – Certificate IV in Disability Support learners must successfully complete a total of 10 units consisting of 7 core units and 3 elective units.
ACPS has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy, to ensure that an individual’s prior learning, achieved through formal and informal training, work experience or other life experiences, is appropriately recognized.
Credit transfer applies to situations where learners have completed units at another provider identical to those in which they plan to enrol. Credit will be granted in accordance with the Credit Transfer procedure. To apply for credit transfer please complete the credit transfer application form available from head office and attach copies of verified documents to support the application. A reduction in tuition fees will be applied if Credit Transfer is granted.
